Terms & Conditions
General Terms & Conditions
1. When you contact AMT to make a booking, we will discuss with you the details of your proposed tour and you will confirm your acceptance of these terms and conditions on behalf of yourself and other members of your party by paying AMT the deposit of $500 per person and signing and returning a copy of these terms and conditions.  AMT will then confirm acceptance of your booking in writing via email or letter.  The contract between yourself and AMT is deemed made only when AMT has confirmed in writing acceptance of your booking.

2. The balance for the tour cost is due no later than 45 days prior to its commencement date.  If the commencement date is less than 45 days ahead, AMT will only accept your booking upon receipt of the full cost of the tour.

3. All cancellations must be notified in writing.
Cancellation Charges: Up to 60 days before departure – amount of deposit, 45 to 60 days before departure – 50% of the total cost, less than 30 days before departure – 100% of total cost.  Please note that if the reason for cancellation is covered by your travel insurance, you may be able to reclaim these charges from your insurer.

4. There may be circumstances in which we have to cancel your tour, and if this should occur, we will return to you all the money you have paid to AMT or offer you an alternative tour.  However, if the reason for cancellation results from any event beyond our reasonable control including but not limited to hostilities, political unrest, war or warlike activity, threat of war, riots, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial disputes, natural or nuclear disasters, fire, flood, epidemic or health risk, on advice from any environmental health office or government body, technical problems to transport, airport closures, adverse weather conditions, no refund will be made.

5. AMT reserves the unconditional right to refuse a booking or terminate a tour in the event of conduct which in the exclusive opinion of any of its employees or principals is likely to cause distress, damage, danger or annoyance or damage to property belonging to members of your party, employees of AMT, any third party.  This includes your failure to advise AMT of any medical condition or disability as described in paragraph 6 below.  If your tour is terminated as a result of any of the conduct described in this paragraph, AMT will not be responsible for any loss, cost, expense or damage sustained by you or any person in your party as a result thereof.

6. If you have any special needs, including any disability, AMT will be pleased to accept your booking insofar as we can accommodate you in our vehicles.  Any disability or special requirements must be notified to AMT in writing at the time of booking.  You should also be aware that although many hotels cater for wheelchairs, there may still be steps or stairs and some sites visited may not be accessible to those with special needs.

7. Although AMT is pleased to assist with arrangements for travel and accommodation, it acts as agent only for the supplier and cannot accept any responsibility for any failure or inadequacy in the accommodation or travel booked.  All aircraft, train or ship arrangements are subject to the conditions of carriage of the particular carrier which may limit or exclude liability.

8. In the event of disruption caused by any circumstance described in condition 4 above, and in the furtherance and best interests in the continuance of the tour, AMT reserves the unconditional right to alter the itinerary, routes, hotel arrangements or ferry details as may become unavoidably necessary during the tour arising from reasons beyond its control.  We will discuss any necessary changes with you before making them, but AMT will not normally agree to any alternative arrangements which cause the duration of the tour to be extended or the final destination to be changed.  AMT will not be responsible for any consequential loss to you or additional expense arising from any changes made in such circumstances.

9. You and all members of your party must carry valid passports for all destinations and it is your responsibility to ensure that you and all members of your party have any necessary visas.

10. By booking a tour with AMT you warrant that you and all members of your party are physically and mentally fit to undertake the itinerary agreed.  AMT reserves the right to request a medical certificate confirming your fitness if at the commencement of the tour you or any member of your party will be over the age of 75 years.

11. Cancellation and other travel related insurance packages are strongly recommended.  AMT’s preferred travel insurance company is Travel Guard.  For further information about their insurance options, please refer to their website: www.travelguard.com, or contact them directly at 1-800-826-4919.  Please note that some insurance coverage must be purchased within a limited time after payment: insurance packages that cover pre-existing conditions, for example, must be purchased within 7 days of making initial deposit.  Please review insurance policies prior to final payment.

12. Any complaints or dissatisfactions should be notified in the first instance to the tour guide or driver and if not immediately resolved, you should notify in writing to AMT at 1270 Broadway sutie#208 New York, NY 10001 within 30 days after completion of the tour.  You agree that if the complaint cannot be immediately resolved by AMT to your satisfaction, you and AMT will enter into mediation before you take any other action.
